Why Is My Undercounter Ice Machine Not Draining?
The short answer
Usually the drain line is kinked, looped or blocked; a stalled pump or a gravity run without enough fall comes next.
Check in this order
- Switch the machine off at its panel and scoop out the ice so melt stops adding water.
- Wait a few minutes: on a gravity model, water that stays with the power off points to a blocked line.
- Trace the drain hose wherever you can see it for a kink, a loop or a stretch running uphill.
- Check the standpipe or floor drain it empties into; if that is backing up too, the blockage is a plumber's.
