Before you call
Four checks an owner can make without taking anything off.
- Read the setpoint on the control panel, then check a thermometer in a glass of water on a middle shelf a few hours later.
- Look at the grille in front of the condenser; dust matted across it is enough on its own to warm the cabinet.
- Shut each door on a slip of paper in a few places round the seal; wherever it pulls out with no drag, the gasket is not sealing.
- If the display is dark, check the breaker before anything else.
